A peer support community, independent and not for sale. Since February 2024.
Lead facilitator
“I hold the room so you do not have to.”
I came to this the ordinary way: I was three months into semaglutide, deeply confused, and the only place I could find to ask about it was a comment section that made me feel worse. So a handful of us started meeting on a Thursday evening instead, six people on a call, no agenda beyond going round the circle. That was February 2024. It has grown a long way past six people and I still think of it as a Thursday evening.
My training is peer support, not medicine. That distinction matters and I say it in every circle I hold: I can sit with you in the thing, I can help you find the question you want to take to your clinician, and I can tell you what other people have found. I cannot tell you what to do with your body, and I would not want the job.
What I am good at is slowing a conversation down. When ten people are talking at once about dose and grams of protein and what somebody's aunt read, the useful thing is usually to stop and ask one person how they are actually doing. I do that a lot. Some people find it maddening at first.
Outside the Circle I work in adult education and I have two allotment beds that I neglect in July. I do not post about numbers and I never will.

The plateau
The plateau
The plateau
clinical
Why change slows or stops, what the trial curves actually look like, what is worth checking, and why a plateau is a physiological event rather than a verdict on you.
eating
Restaurants when your stomach holds a starter and everybody at the table has noticed. Practical arrangements, and how members handle the commentary.
living
Who needs to know, who does not, what it costs either way — and the one group of people you genuinely must tell, for reasons of safety rather than honesty.
