The short version: we collect as little as we can get away with, we sell none of it, and you can have your journal withdrawn by asking.
Last revised 4 May 2026
What we collect
An email address and a handle, so that you can log in and be contacted. Whatever you choose to write. Basic server logs, including truncated IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention. Aggregate page-view counts.
What we do not collect
We do not ask for your legal name, your address, your weight, your height, your date of birth beyond confirming you are eighteen, your medication, your diagnoses, or any other health data. Where members mention health information it is because they chose to write it in public, and it is their disclosure rather than our record.
We run no advertising trackers, no third-party analytics that profile individuals, no fingerprinting, and no cross-site tracking. Sponsors receive no data about you at all — their units are plain links and they cannot see who clicked from where.
Cookies
One essential cookie for your session if you log in, and one to remember that you have dismissed a notice. Nothing else. See cookies.
Who we share with
Nobody, other than our hosting provider as a processor. We do not sell, rent, license or trade data. If we were ever compelled to disclose something by a lawful order we would tell the affected member unless legally prevented.
How long we keep things
Server logs for thirty days. Account records while your account exists and for ninety days afterwards. Published content indefinitely, unless you ask us to withdraw it.
Withdrawing your journal or your account
Email us and we will withdraw your journal, your check-in responses, or your whole account. Withdrawal removes the pages and replaces your handle with a placeholder in any conversation where removing your words would break somebody else's reply. We will do that within seven days and confirm it.
You can also ask for a copy of everything we hold about you, and ask us to correct anything wrong.
Children
This site is for adults. It is not aimed at anybody under eighteen and we do not knowingly hold accounts for under-eighteens.
