Paused, not ended
Pippa asked to pause for family reasons that have nothing to do with any of this, and Winnie held the pairing open for five months.

We added "paused" as a status because of these two. Before that the only options were ongoing and ended, and Pippa correctly pointed out that being asked to declare an ending she did not want was needlessly bleak.
Winnie sent one message a month through the pause, deliberately requiring nothing, and did not join another pairing. She says she was not being noble and simply did not want to.
They are, as of this summer, close to restarting. Pippa has asked that this entry stay as it is either way, because she thinks a site that only records the successful stretches is not much use at two in the morning.
I did not want to end it. I wanted to not do it for a while, and there was no word for that, so we made one.
One message a month, nothing needed back. I was not being noble. I just did not fancy anybody else.
