Clay country, practical to the bone, and I am going to be practical about this: I need something that works because I cannot get an appointment until Thursday.
Sunday night I started being sick. It has not stopped. Not constant, but every couple of hours, and since yesterday morning I cannot keep water down either — I take a few sips, it comes back. I have not been to the toilet properly since yesterday and when I stood up from the settee earlier the room went sideways for a few seconds and I had to hold the doorframe.
I rang the surgery this morning and the first appointment is Thursday afternoon. I did not want to make a fuss on the phone so I did not push. I have had a sick day off work which I can just about afford and I am hoping to be back in on Wednesday.
So: what works? I have tried flat lemonade and dry toast, and the toast was a mistake. I have a bag of those electrolyte sachets somewhere from the summer but I cannot keep the water down to take them in. My sister swears by ginger. Somebody at work says peppermint tea and small sips every ten minutes with a teaspoon.
Anything anybody has found. I am tired and I would just like to stop being sick.
