Grief and eating
When something enormous happens and eating goes with it.
Bereavement, a diagnosis, a separation, a redundancy — grief interferes with eating in every direction, and it does so while you are already on a medication that reduces appetite. This is one of the situations where the practical floor matters most and is hardest to hold.
This circle moves slowly. Long silences are normal. Nobody is asked to be further along than they are.
Who this circle is for
- You are grieving, in any of the ways that word covers
- Eating has become difficult or impossible
- You are past the worst and can describe what helped
Agreements here
- We do not put timelines on anybody
- When eating has genuinely stopped, we say plainly that this needs a clinician
